The graduates of the fourth term of the SOCAR Energy School certification program, launched in collaboration between SOCAR Türkiye and Sabancı University’s Executive Development Unit (EDU), received their certificates at a ceremony held on April 17. Aimed at providing the energy sector with qualified human resources, the program was successfully completed this year following an intensive training process.
Over the course of the 12-week program, participants received training across a broad spectrum, ranging from the functioning of energy markets to global supply-demand balances, and from sustainability practices to renewable energy technologies. In addition to technical content, the program—supported by modules focused on leadership, strategic thinking, and decision-making processes—contributed to participants gaining a multidimensional perspective. At the ceremony, attended by SOCAR Türkiye CEO Elchin Ibadov and Sabancı University President Yusuf Leblebici, certificates were awarded to participants who successfully completed the program.
Under the SOCAR Energy School program, which featured contributions from national and international academics as well as leading industry experts, critical topics such as energy policies, supply security, energy efficiency, digitalization, and the dynamics of transformation in the sector were addressed. Through panels, case studies, and interactive sessions held during the program, participants had the opportunity to translate theoretical knowledge into practical application.
Speaking at the ceremony, SOCAR Türkiye CEO Elchin Ibadov highlighted the transformation the energy sector is undergoing, stating: “The energy sector is undergoing a rapid and multifaceted transformation on a global scale. Human resources capable of adapting to this transformation, possessing strong analytical thinking skills, and an innovative perspective are of critical importance for the sector’s future. “With the SOCAR Energy School, we aim to create sustainable value in this field and contribute to the sector’s development.”
Sabancı University President Yusuf Leblebici, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of academia-industry collaboration and noted: “In today’s world where knowledge is rapidly evolving, programs that bring together different disciplines and promote application-oriented learning are of great importance. SOCAR Energy School is a strong collaboration model that successfully implements this approach. We are pleased to be a part of this valuable program.”
Bringing together professionals from various sectors on a common learning platform, SOCAR Energy School aims to provide participants not only with technical knowledge but also with a strategic perspective and a strong professional network. Program graduates gain the opportunity to apply the knowledge and experience they have acquired in ways that add value to their organizations and the sector.
Through the programs it has conducted to date, SOCAR Energy School continues to contribute to the development of competent human resources in the energy sector and remains one of the successful examples of academia-industry collaboration.
