Support from SOCAR Türkiye to young women aspiring to initiate their professional journey within the energy industry
Persisting with its Women Energy initiative, SOCAR Türkiye is advancing its goal of fostering parity in employment and managerial positions for young women through an extensive year-long training program. Among the 2,200 recently graduated young female applicants to the program, 10 individuals have been chosen to assume positions. These roles encompass not only field-focused engineering positions like production and processes across different SOCAR Türkiye locations but also extend to departments such as digital transformation and finance.
Continuing its 'Women Energy' initiative under the guidance of female leaders, SOCAR Türkiye, the foremost foreign direct investor in Türkiye, is implementing the 'Management Trainee' (MT) program. With the objective of promoting gender parity in professional and leadership positions, SOCAR Türkiye extends its commitment to the Women Energy project, concurrently offering support to young women who aim to commence their careers in the energy sector through the 'Leading Women Development Program”.
Out of a total of 2,200 university graduates, young women from various parts of Türkiye, who had submitted applications for the MT program, 40 individuals were chosen to take part in the 'candidate selection workshop' called Ideathon. These 40 participants were divided into eight teams of five each and took part in a single-day workshop focused on generating ideas for 'Enhancing the work environment for women.' After assessing their inputs during the workshop, 10 individuals were selected as qualified candidates to enroll in the MT program.
The chosen 10 individuals will have the opportunity to work in field-specific engineering roles such as production, processes, and projects, as well as in departments like digital transformation and finance at various locations within SOCAR Türkiye. Throughout the one-year MT program, candidates will receive training to enhance their development, covering topics such as seeing the bigger picture, gender equality, agility, scrum, presentation techniques, energy and petroleum markets, quality, and kaizen.
