SOCAR Energy School Celebrates Graduation of Its Third Cohort

The third cohort of the SOCAR Energy School certificate program — jointly organized by SOCAR Türkiye and Sabancı University Executive Development Unit (EDU) — has officially graduated. Certificates were presented at a ceremony attended by Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ahmet Berat Çonkar and Sabancı University President Yusuf Leblebici.

SOCAR Türkiye, Türkiye’s largest direct international investor and leading integrated industrial group, together with Sabancı University EDU, successfully completed the third term of the SOCAR Energy School after a rigorous nine-week program. At the graduation ceremony, participants who completed the program received their certificates in the presence of high-level attendees, including Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ahmet Berat Çonkar and Sabancı University President Yusuf Leblebici.

The SOCAR Energy School brought together a broad range of participants — from public and private sector leaders to members of the press — and offered lectures delivered by national and international academics as well as globally recognized industry experts. The curriculum covered diverse topics such as energy grids, market dynamics, renewable resources, and efficiency practices. In addition to classroom sessions, the program also featured panel discussions on critical issues including global and regional energy policies, energy supply security, and sustainability.

Speaking at the ceremony, SOCAR Türkiye CEO Elchin Ibadov emphasized the rapid global transformation of the energy sector and the significance of strategic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye. He noted: “As Türkiye’s largest direct international investor and integrated industrial group, we view the development of skilled, innovative, and visionary professionals as a key social responsibility to ensure the continuity of our investments. We firmly believe in the value of academia-industry collaboration and the importance of quality education for the advancement of the energy sector. At SOCAR Türkiye, we combined our long-standing experience in the energy industry with the academic expertise of Sabancı University’s distinguished faculty to offer this unique, tuition-free program to public and private sector executives who aspire to specialize in energy. This year, we proudly hosted the third term of the program, welcoming prominent speakers from both Türkiye and abroad. I would like to thank Sabancı University, our esteemed lecturers, and everyone who contributed to the program — and extend my heartfelt congratulations to our graduates.”

The fourth term of the SOCAR Energy School certificate program is scheduled to take place in late 2025.
