SOCAR Türkiye CEO Zaur Gahramanov is appointed to a new position at SOCAR Headquarters

Zaur Gahramanov has stepped down from his position as CEO of SOCAR Türkiye to continue his work at SOCAR Headquarters in Baku.

Zaur Gahramanov, the CEO of Türkiye’s largest foreign investment company - SOCAR Türkiye, has stepped down from the position he has maintained for approximately the last 7 years, to take on a new position at SOCAR Headquarters. Gahramanov has spent in SOCAR organization for 15 years, taking on various responsibilities in Azerbaijan, Switzerland and most recently in Türkiye. He will act as an Advisor to the President of SOCAR.

Elchin Ibadov will replace Zaur Gahramanov as an acting CEO. He has previously held the position of Head of Finance of SOCAR Türkiye Refinery and Petrochemicals Business Unit in Izmir.

Elchin Ibadov graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago and started to work at the World Trade Center Chicago in 2002 as the Research Specialist. Beginning in 2003, he took on a series of positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC). In the period from 2014 to 2019, Elchin Ibadov worked at STAR Refinery as Finance Director and CFO. In November 2019, he was appointed as the CFO of Petkim, at the same time assuming the role of Head of Finance of SOCAR Türkiye Refinery and Petrochemicals Business Unit, Refinery, including STAR Refinery, Petkim, SOCAR Storage and SOCAR Petrol Ticaret. Prioritizing continuous education and personal development, Ibadov completed a professional training and certification program at Harvard Business School and assumed the task of writing and translating various textbooks in the subjects of economics, accounting, finance, International Financial Reporting Standards, and financial auditing. Ibadov is also a permanent member of international finance and auditing organizations such as ACCA, ACFE and IIA.
