SOCAR Türkiye Ar-Ge ve İnovasyon A.Ş. (SOCAR Türkiye R&D and Innovation) is the first company in the world to receive an “ISO 56002 Innovation Management Systems Certificate.” The certificate was presented to SOCAR Türkiye R&D and Innovation General Manager Bilal Guliyev by Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank.

With its R&D and innovation projects, SOCAR Türkiye, Türkiye’s largest industrial holdings corporation, became the first company in the world industry to receive an Innovation Management Systems Certificate. Certifying the company’s sustainable corporate innovation management, the document was presented to SOCAR Türkiye R&D and Innovation General Manager Bilal Guliyev by Ministry of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank at the 9th R&D and Design Center and Technology Development Regional Summit.

SOCAR Türkiye took an active role on behalf of Türkiye on the committee, significantly contributing to the preparatory process for the ISO 56002 Innovation Management Systems standard.

By making an effective assessment of the opinions of its stakeholders, SOCAR Türkiye R&D and Innovation undertakes to establish systems that foster innovation as part of the corporate culture, The company played a significant role in the preparations for and the application of the standard, becoming a leader in this area in Turkey and the world. This is an important milestone in the area of innovation and quality management systems in Turkey and has paved the way and provided inspiration for subsequent projects.

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank congratulated SOCAR Türkiye for being the first company to document its Innovation Management System in the industry and praised the importance the company places on innovation.

The SOCAR R&D and Innovation Center was established in December 2019, drawing from Petkim’s 51 years of expertise, an asset that the company intended to make prevalent throughout the group. The founding purpose of SOCAR R&D was to produce innovative, sustainable, environment-friendly, market-centered products, processes, catalysts and generate digital technologies, improve and develop production processes for all stakeholders. Thirty-nine projects are currently being conducted at the SOCAR R&D and Innovation Center. Five projects of the SOCAR R&D and Innovation Center became eligible for funding from the European Union.
