The opening ceremony and first class of the fourth term of the SOCAR Energy School certificate program, organized in collaboration between SOCAR Türkiye and Sabancı University's Executive Development Unit (EDU), took place on November 29, 2025, at SOCAR Türkiye's facilities in Aliağa.
This prestigious program, launched by SOCAR Türkiye, Türkiye's largest integrated industrial group, in collaboration with Sabancı University's Executive Development Unit (EDU), began with a ceremony held on November 29. At the opening ceremony, attended by 74 participants accepted into this year's program, SOCAR Türkiye Chief Communications and Government Relations Officer Mikayil Yusifov and Sabancı University Vice President for Research Mehmet Yıldız addressed the participants.
The opening speeches included assessments on the development of the energy sector, sustainability-focused transformation, and the contributions of the training program to the sector. Following the speeches, participants had the opportunity to observe the production processes firsthand during a field trip to SOCAR Türkiye's Refinery and Petrochemical facilities. Thanks to the briefings provided by technical teams, participants gained detailed information about refinery and petrochemical operations.
Mikayil Yusifov, Chief Communications and Government Relations Officer at SOCAR Türkiye, said, "We are proud to begin the fourth term of the SOCAR Energy School. The increasing interest each year shows that the program has an important position both in the sector and among professionals. I believe that this term, participants will gain a broad perspective on the future of the energy sector, adding value both to themselves and to our sector."
Mehmet Yıldız, Vice President for Research at Sabancı University, said in his speech, "The SOCAR Energy School is a long-term and strategic collaboration that perfectly aligns with Sabancı University's vision of 'doing and creating together.' The energy sector is of critical importance for both Türkiye and Azerbaijan, and the future of this field is shaped not only by technology but also by the knowledge sharing of highly qualified human resources. This program is an exemplary model that truly adds value to the sector, created by the coming together of two powerful institutions. I hope that this period will be not only intensive and productive for our participants, but also a process that provides valuable relationships and a strong network."
SOCAR Energy School continues to bring together professionals working at different levels of the energy sector, offering a robust educational platform covering both theoretical and practical aspects. The program will continue in the coming period with various courses and sessions featuring contributions from national and international experts.
